If you make it to the ripe old age of 90, this is what you can expect a breakdown of your life to look like.

The folks at WaitButWhy.com have clearly spent some time pondering their own existence (not the site itself, but the humans that run it) and have come to some conclusions. Most people are average, and that means they have a few basic things in common. With that in mind, they assembled a chart on what your life will look like if you can get to the milestone age of 90-years-old, and have pointed out the most important events that you're likely to come across.

From the average age you can expect to have a kid, or get married, to the time that you spend in school and your career, there are a depressingly small amount of things achieved in the average life, and this chart makes that plainly evident. While it is designed for an American audience and uses their terminology for schools and so on, it's all pretty much applicable to us too. You can click the image for a larger version of it if it's not clear enough.

You can, of course, map out your own version by buying a poster of this chart, and tick off the weeks of the year with a blank form that will bring home the crushing reality of what it is that we do with ourselves in all our days on this Earth. Again, click for a bigger image.

As they point out themselves, the key is to achieve what you can in the weeks that you get in the most enjoyable way possible. If you're not enjoying a week, or several weeks, then make sure that you're doing it because down the line you will definitely have more enjoyable weeks. This, in all its glory, really is the meaning of life. Who knew it was so simple?
