In case you hadn't been keeping up, this coming weekend is the one year anniversary of the marriage referendum. To begin the celebrations, Happenings will be hosting an open-air screening of The Queen of Ireland in Merrion Square on Thursday evening. 

You may have heard of Happenings, they hold open-air film screenings, and other events, throughout Ireland particularly during the summer months. The Goonies, The Big Lebowski, Mrs. Doubtfire and The Grand Budapest Hotel were amongst the movies they showed last year.

Prior to Thursday's film there will be a panel discussion with Panti, the film's director and producer Conor Horgan and Katie Holly, charity founder Michael McDermott, Moninne Griffith of BelonG To and journalist Una Mullally. They will be discussing the film , the referendum and the impact of the yes vote a year on.

There will also be live music and food on site. Gates open at 7.30pm and entry is €5.
