It is undoubtedly one of the biggest and most successful stage musicals of all time, and people have travelled from all four corners of the globe to catch it on Broadway, in the West End or on one of its touring productions.

Thus far, however, 'Hamilton' has never been seen on Irish soil - until now.

Lin-Manuel Miranda's 2015 musical based on the life of Alexander Hamilton, one of the founding fathers of the United States, is coming to Dublin's Bord Gais Energy Theatre.

The show is embarking on a UK and Irish tour that kicks off in November and will include a run at the Dublin theatre.

So far, runs in Manchester and Edinburgh have been announced for late 2023/early 2024, with more to come.

The official announcement on dates will be made today, but teasers began appearing online and across Dublin yesterday evening - and it's safe to say that people are very excited.
