They made headlines (and became a meme) with their 'conscious uncoupling' statement after their marriage had ended - but it seems that Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin

By all accounts, the actress and the Coldplay frontman have remained on good terms since their marriage ended in March 2014 after ten years. Paltrow remarried producer Brad Falchuk in 2018, while Martin has been in a relationship with actress Dakota Fanning since 2017.

However, comments made by Paltrow in a new interview will undoubtedly raise eyebrows once again, as she has described her ex-husband in slightly unusual terms.

Speaking at her Goop wellness summit over the weekend, she discussed her family with actress Cameron Diaz, and mentioned her relationship with Martin, the father of her two children Apple (19) and Moses (17).

She mentioned how she and Martin had taken a recent trip together to look at colleges for Moses. "'I'm still very close with my ex-husband," she said. We’ve sort of morphed it into a true family. I know it sounds really weird to say, but he’s kind of like my brother now. And it’s hard for people to understand, but I did really make a commitment that he would stay my family, and I think we suffer a lot less because of that.

"I think it’s incredibly painful for a woman, when you’ve co-mingled your DNA with a man, if you have no contact and acrimony and nothing between you. So if you’re able to, transmogrify that into a different type of relationship and family. That’s what we’ve been able to do, thank goodness."

You're right, Gwyneth. It does sound really weird.
