All that loose change in your pocket might be a thing of the past soon.

The government looks set to approve a move to withdraw one and two cent coins from circulation after a trial that took place in Wexford was judged to have been a success, and that it should be rolled out nationally.

The plan would see Ireland join five other countries that have a 'rounding' policy, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Hungary. The new plan would see the coins go out of circulation, and prices would be rounded to the nearest five cent at the register by retailers.

According to Independent.ie, the matter will be brought before the Cabinet tomorrow for a decision.
