Yesterday, actress Kristina Cohen (who has appeared in TV series Ladies Like Us, and films like Devil's Night) shared a post on Facebook that accused English actor Ed Westwick of raping her three years ago.

She said that she had been encouraged to speak out about her experience by the recent spate of women and men going public with their own stories, and said that she found it difficult to process at the time because her mother was dying of cancer.

The assault, she says, happened at a party at Westwick's house that she had attended with her then-boyfriend, a producer. She says that she felt uncomfortable at the house and wanted to leave, but when she went to lie down in a spare room, Westwick forced himself on her and raped her. She also said that she had been discouraged to speak out about it by her boyfriend lest it damage her career.

Westwick, who is known primarily for playing the character Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl from 2007 - 2012, has responded to the allegation with a three-line post to Instagram, saying: "I do not know this woman. I have never forced myself in any manner, on any woman. I certainly have never committed rape."
