New York's Carnegie Hall played host to last night's Glamour Women of The Year Awards, which sets about showering accolades upon famous faces who undertake various forms of charity work.

While the cause does continue to be a noble one, the amount of glamour on display was questionable. Not so much the attendees, but the venue. Far be it from me to slight the surroundings Carnegie Hall, but what's the story with the photo call shots? First, people such as Kelly Osbourne and Estelle, as well as actual stars like Julia Roberts, Hilary 'I don't look at all freezing' Swank, Kate 'neither do I' Hudson and - would you believe it - Cher, had to line up outside in the cold in their frocks to the photographed. Not very glamorous.

Then there were those too lofty to be photographed outside - namely Petra Nemcova, Donatella Versace, Janet Jackson, and HRH Queen Rania of Jordan - who were ushered in to pose on a damp and slightly sullied beige carpet. Not very glamorous. In fact, it's about as glamorous as the extremities of Kate Hudson's dress.

Just saying.
