The mam of one has announced that she's totally done with the online space just days after the takeover of the platform by Elon Musk. Coinkydink? Who knows.

The 27-year-old model has made the decision to step away from the online platform which she has referred to as a "cesspool". The announcement was made by Hadid just days after Elon Musk took over the site, resulting in widespread staff layoffs worldwide. The layoffs have resulted in retaliation from both staff and Twitter users including celebrities like Hadid.

Hadid took to Instagram to explain her decision to leave the platform, "For a long time, but especially with its new leadership it’s becoming more and more of a cesspool of hate & bigotry, and its not a place I want to be a part of".

Her statement continued by saying, "Only sorry to the fans, who I’ve loved connecting with for a decade via Twitter, but I can’t stay it’s a safe place for anyone nor a social platform that will do more good than harm".

She also shared a statement released by ex-employee Shannon Raj Singh who said, "Yesterday was my last day at Twitter: the entire Human Rights team has been cut from the company. I am enormously proud of the work we did to implement the UN Guiding Principles on Business & Human Rights, to protect those at-risk in global conflicts & crises including Ethiopia".

The statement continued, "Afghanistan, and Ukraine, and to defend the needs of those, particularly at risk of human rights abuse by virtue of their social media presence, such as journalists & human rights defenders".

We can't be sure, but we assume this won't be the last of the celebrity Twitter resignations in the coming weeks and months.
