Just this weekend, Zayn Malik had to cancel a major gig after admitting that he's having a pretty hard time with his anxiety right now, so much so, he just couldn't face the idea of getting on stage.

Fans may have been upset, but those who've ever found themselves in the grips of a panic attack or a stomach-churning wave of anxiety will know all too well how real the struggle can be. Unfortunately, it's not something you can 'snap out of', and for someone on Zayn's platform, we can only imagine how much the anxiety that you or I would experience would be magnified tenfold. Brian shared Zayn's message with you over the weekend, but today his on/off girlfriend Gigi Hadid has spoken out in support of her boyfriend's suffering. No doubt, this will help countless anxiety sufferers feel as though they are less alone and feel brave enough to speak openly about how they feel. The more celebrities who appear to us to be invincible and devoid of any real problems admit that they feel it too, the better we will all feel.

Here's what she said:

Z – I’ve seen the battles you go through and the way you fight to get to a place that allows you to get up there for your fans. Your bravery in those times makes me proud, but your honesty last night proved what you’re all about, being real. Human recognises human. You made the best of the situation and have given your fans an opportunity to understand you better as a performer. Those who can find compassion now are the ones who deserve to watch you continue to grow. We are all here to support you and make each experience easier. Your talent and good heart will never lead you wrong. Love you and so proud of you always. G.
