She is best known for her work as a model and her high-profile romance with Zayn Malik - but Gigi Hadid made headlines for all the wrong reasons this week.

Hadid was en route to the Cayman Islands earlier this month for a holiday with a friend when she was detained after cannabis was found in her luggage.

Both Hadid and her friend Leah McCarthy plead guilty in court and were issued a fine of $1000 Cayman dollars, but their conviction was not recorded. The official charge was for "the importation of marijuana and importation of utensils used for the consumption of marijuana".

A spokesperson for Hadid claimed that the marijuana was purchased legally in New York with "a medical licence", adding "It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island."

In any case, it seems that Hadid did in fact enjoy the rest of her time, as she posted a series of photos and videos after the news had broken yesterday, with the caption: "All’s well that ends well🌅"
