We're not sure, but we think all this intermittent sunshine and rising temperatures may indicate that summer is happening, but we daren't speak too soon. It's been grand and all, but we could do with a good long spell of sunshine really couldn't we? A bit of honest to God grass cutting weather.

Well after a fair few nice days last week, it looks like that is exactly what's happening, with more sunshine on the way this week. Tomorrow is set to have the best of it too, with temperatures rising up to 23 degrees, making it hotter than London, Paris and Berlin.

Suck it, mainland Europe!

However their might be some rain and drizzle in the west and north, those guys never luck out.

Overall though, things are looking good for the rest of the week with sunny spells set to continue. Met Eireann weather forecaster Willemiem Phelan told the Irish Mirror: “There’s a good bit of sunshine around. Temperatures increasing from 18 to 20C today to the possibility of 23C tomorrow.

“It will be warmest on Tuesday and brightest on Thursday.”

Willemien added: “There’s no sign of any big weather events or rainfall and looks to be a settled spell into the weekend."

Happy days!
