The summer is still upon us, so don’t panic yet, but it’s not a bad idea to start planning for what you’re going to put in your Autumn Winter wardrobe this year, and taking a look at what’s on offer out there.

Arnotts offer a great range of brands, which makes it a handy one-stop shop if you don’t want to be walking around town all day, and we popped along to a recent event to get a look at some of the things we can expect to see hitting stores for Autumn/Winter 2014.

Although colours do tend to get a bit darker and more sombre for the colder months, there’s no reason that lively patterns and pieces can’t still make an appearance. We’ve picked out two or three pieces in tartan that add that bit of panache to something like a bomber-style jacket, or even a suit jacket. That bold pattern will allow you to go plain underneath with the shirt, but still grab attention when you don that dapper suit.

There are plenty of casual looks too, and again prints abound, from polo shirts to sweaters and jumpers. As always, as the temperature drops, a trusty knit is a part of any man’s wardrobe that he should never forget, and will serve you well whether you’re headed to meet the guys or spending a night in on the couch.

Footwear is an important part of any outfit, and making sure that you have a few options to choose from is a great way to add variety to your outfits. We’ve chosen a few suede numbers here that might not be suited to our rainy weather, but that’s no reason to ditch them entirely.

Accessories will always be a way to bring your own individual touches to anything your wearing, and in winter we can layer up with scarves that add a pop of colour, or throw our gear in a stylish weekender bag, whether you’re headed away or just getting in a quick session at the gym.

Finally, the centrepieces of your wardrobe will be a warm jacket to protect you from the elements, and some trusty denim that you can match pretty much anything with. There are plenty of options on show in the gallery below, and don't be afraid to throw splashes of colour in with t-shirts or other pieces that will make you stand out from the crowd.
