Saget was found unresponsive in his hotel room on Sunday afternoon.

Actor and comedian Bob Saget has died, aged 65. After performing a stand-up show in Jacksonville on Saturday night, Saget was found unresponsive in his Ritz-Carlton hotel room on Sunday.

No cause of death has been confirmed. There is no suspected foul play or evidence of drugs use involved.

Saget is most famous for his role as widowed father Danny Tanner in 'Full House'. He is also well known more recently as the voice of Ted Mosby in 'How I Met Your Mother'.

As well as acting, Saget regularly performed stand-up, usually focused on adult-oriented themes. He was close friends with recently-passed comedian Norm Macdonald, who famously performed at his comedy roast.

The Saget family released the following statement: "We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today. He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter. Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world."

'Full House' counterpart John Stamos stated, "I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby."

Others in the industry were also quick to pay tribute. Marc Maron said in a tweet: "Truly one of the nicest guys and so funny. Very sad." Actor Tim Allen also tweeted: "Terribly sad news great friend, great comedian and wonderful man Bob Saget passed. Hit me hard. Prayers and my open heart to his family."

Saget is survived by his wife and three children.
