Damn French people, always playing it cool even when they've been attacked by a crocodile.

Yoann Galeran was only 15 metres from the shore in the Northern Territory of Australia we he ended up in a headlock battling with a saltwater crocodile. Your average day Down Under then. Now we're not going to say it was Galeran's fault, but we should point out that he went swimming at night time and couldn't actually see very much of what was going on so maybe he was invading the croc's space unknowingly when he was attacked.

'It felt like a big stone or something coming on my head,' he said. 'I just thought for sure that is a croc and I started to think the only thing to do was to move my body as much as I can. With my hand I touched the body of the croc underneath the skull ... I guess I pushed him and had the chance to escape'. Galeran got away from the encounter with a few scratches on his back and two puncture wounds from teeth on the back of his neck as wella as another three or four puncture wounds on the sides of his head. He had been swimming out to a dinghy which he made his way to after fending off the croc, raising the alarm and getting stitched up the local hospital and was apparently laughing about the whole ordeal.

His summary: 'I hugged him, gave him a little cuddle, and he said, 'He is nice, he is nice' so he left me alone.' C'est la vie, non?
