A hospital in France is making headlines by opening a wine bar for their patients so that they can enjoy themselves.

This September will see Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital in Puy-de-Dôme open their bar for patients, serving wine, whiskey and champagne, all for the enjoyment of those receiving care at the facility.

Not to worry though, the few drinks will be "medically supervised", according to The Independent, so it will all be above board. Dr Virginie Guastella, who is the manager of the hospital and backs the idea, said that she was defending the patients' "right to have fun", adding that this was "a way of rethinking the care of others, taking into account their feelings and emotions that make them a human being".

The bar will be for the use of those in palliative care, and in particular Dr. Guastella felt that this could be a great addition for those patients who are terminally ill, allowing them to spend their final days with their friends and family in a much more relaxed environment.

It's a move that's sure to be welcomed by the patients, and if you ask us, we like the idea of being able to enjoy a fine glass of wine everywhere and anywhere.
