Francesca Eastwood has been named Miss Golden Globe 2013.

The aspiring actress - daughter of Hollywood icon Clint Eastwood (who enjoys setting fire to Birkin Bags in the name of 'ort' as you might recall) - is stepping into the spotlight landing a role assisting celebrity guests on and off stage at next year's awards ceremony. Yep, she's going to be the girl in the gown shuffling a few steps back and forth showing people where they already need to go if they have functioning eyeballs. Apparently this is an honour usually bestowed to the offspring of someone famous. For example, Rumer Willis did it one year. So did Freddie Prince Jnr. although he got to wear a suit.

The 19-year-old was confirmed as Miss Golden Globe 2013 at Cecconi's Restaurant in West Hollywood last night, where a bit of a do was held by the Hollywood Foreign Press.

Aida Takla-Reilly - the President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association - and last year's Miss Golden Globe, Gia Mantegna, joined her on stage to celebrate her appointment. Then they all helped each other offstage.

Aida said: "Francesca comes from a very talented family and we are delighted to have her be our Miss Golden Globe. She is a budding actress (and don't forget the E! reality TV show with her mommy...) and is a great addition as we celebrate the show's 70th anniversary."

Fact fan alert: 82-year-old Clint has won three Golden Globes for Best Director during his illustrious career for 1989's Bird, 1993's Unforgiven and 2005's Million Dollar Baby.

The 2013 Golden Globe Awards will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Hollywood on January 13th.
