Robbie Keane scored a hat-trick in just 17 minutes, we have a selection of 40-yard screamers to choose from, and has India got the football league it's always been asking for?

Gibraltar lost 7-0 to Ireland at the Aviva on Saturday, and Robbie Keane got three of those goals in just 17 minutes. The standard of opposition had a lot to do with that, and as Liam Brady said, they might well be the worst international side he's ever seen. When they're conceding goals like this, it's hard to argue with that assessment. 

Then again it was a bad weekend for goalkeepers, just ask this fella. 

Staying in Europe, Diego Costa scored his first goal for Spain, something that he admitted had been weighing on his mind. That could have had something to do with this miss from the same game, which we're sure he's put behind him, but we haven't because it's damn funny. 

Our next trip takes us to Mexico, where this lovely piece of skill from Hector Herrera didn't lead to a goal, but it will lead to you trying this and falling over at your next five-a-side. Send us in the clip of that happening to you, because you never know, we might feature it.

It's off to League Two once you've admired that, and if you were expecting a drop in quality, then you might be surprised to see this screamer from Sam Wood of Wycombe Wanderers, which may well be the goal of the weekend. This particular version is spliced with some rather salty (NSFW) commentary from one of Australia's most memorable World Cup goals that perfectly captures the mood, we feel.

That said, there are two more contenders from Germán Rodriguez Rojas of Rafaela in Argentina, and young Ross Muirhead of Scotland's U19s for you to choose from too. 

And finally, India is getting itself a big time football league. It seems that the appetite for the game is at an all time high after the World Cup, and the formation of the Hero India Super League looks to be happening at just the right moment. With some franchises from established European clubs such as Atlético Madrid and Fiorentina, it's an interesting experiment, and the first match this weekend took place in the 120,000-seater Salt Lake stadium (that looked to be mostly full) as Atlético de Kolkata took on Mumbai City. Atleti won 3-0, with Borja Fernández's goal being the pick of the lot.
