And before we forget, pooch Lupo. It's very important we acknowledge that.

Kate and William released the first official images of their new family last night and, as previously thought, the royal duo decided to buck tradition and instead of getting a professional set of photos taken let Kate’s father Michael Middleton take the photos in the garden of the Middleton family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, in early August. Mario Testino was rumoured to have been considered to take the photos after doing their engagement ones, with Hugo Burnand's name, who took the photographs at the couple’s royal wedding in 2011, also being thrown around as he previously said 'I love them. They are just so nice as individuals and as a pair, and they work so well together.'

We were really hoping for some awkward selfies (Do you think the pair have iPhones? Kate strikes us as the iPhone type. William probably still has a Nokia).

But would you just look at the wee little pudgy-faced nipper. He looks quite content to sleep in the photos, contrary to what William revealed yesterday about his taste for getting very little sleep and being a 'rascal'. And Kate is apparently a fan of the more relaxed approach and didn't want to disturb the newborns routine with a source telling Hello!: 'Kate has a great eye for pictures and wants the first official ones of George to be natural and in a relaxed environment.'
