German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has died at the age of 85.

Lagerfeld previously worked for fashion houses such as Chanel, Fendi, and his own fashion label. Since 1983, Lagerfeld has been the creative director at Chanel and was known as one of the most prolific designers in the fashion industry.

As well as designing clothes, Lagerfeld also dabbled in everything from fast-fashion, cars, homes, and he even voiced a radio station on 'Grand Theft Auto IV' as himself.

His career, however, was marked with numerous controversies. He was a vocal and adamant supporter of fur in fashion, and caused massive outrage over his comments regarding women's weight and body sizes.

The designer passed away in Paris, although no details surrounding his passing was released.
