A family in Cork were devastated when they learned that their son's autism assistance dog had gone missing the day before yesterday.
Dempsey is a Labradoodle that belongs to Evan O'Dwyer, and after the news broke that he had gone missing by escaping through a broken gate in the family's garden, the internet kicked into gear to try and help them find him and return him to his family.
Happily, they got a call first thing this morning to say that Dempsey had been found, and that he was safe and well in a nearby farmer's field.
Fantastic news this morning #dempsey has been found safe and well in a farmers field! Huge massive thank you to everyone who shared!!!

Dempsey got treated to a big bowl of food when he finally got back home, and an update on Facebook stated that Evan was still sleeping when they got the call to say he had been found, but he would be overjoyed to see him back. They've also ordered some new gates.
