Being a famous and celebrated actor is all well and good, but there are certain pitfalls that go hand-in-hand with public renown.
One of them is apparently being treated with disdain by randomers on social media - but one person who had a pop at actor Eddie Marsan was made to look very silly indeed.
A Twitter user by the name of 'Pumpoi Percy' responded to another disparaging tweet about the English actor - best known for his roles in films like 'Happy-Go-Lucky' and 'The World's End', as well as TV roles in 'Ray Donovan' and 'The Pact' - by adding their own cruel recollection of encountering Marsan while he was a student.
"Many years ago my oppo was at the Print College @ the Elephant," the tweeted. "Marsan came late to the class and sat infront of Russ. The lecturer said this is Eddie, be nice to him, Russ flicked his ears from behind and started singing "Eddie the Elephant packed his trunk".
However, Marsan got wind of the tweet and had the best response to the troll, as you can see below:
Many Twitter users also took to the platform to denounce the troll, with one writing "Perhaps an apology would serve you better than exposing yourselves as horrid little boys?". Another said "So what happened to your mate in life compared to what happened to Eddie Marsan? Who would you say has had the last laugh, your friend, or the rich, famous and widely admired jet-setting Hollywood celebrity and human rights activist?"
Marsan can currently be seen in the TV adaptation of the sci-fi novel 'The Power', which recently debuted on Prime Video.
