The Rock has entered the shower debate, which kicked off among a handful of celebrities over the past few weeks.

In the wake of Jake Gyllenhaal admitting he finds bathing "less necessary" last week (and all of the memes that followed on Twitter), Dwayne Johnson has admitted that he showers three times a day (which is three times more than Gyllenhaal on the daily, FYI).

Maybe the multiple lockdowns have played tricks on the celebrities, but other stars such as Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell have admitted to not bathing themselves each day. To make up for their water saving, Dwayne Johnson showers three times a day, saying he is the "opposite" of these celebs.

The 'Jungle Cruise' star explained his routine on Twitter: "I’m the opposite of a "not washing themselves" celeb.

"Shower (cold) when I roll outta bed to get my day rollin’. Shower (warm) after my workout before work. Shower (hot) after I get home from work. Face wash, body wash, exfoliate and I sing (off key) in the shower."

The shower debate all kicked off last month when Kutcher and Kunis admitted to not bathing their kids unless they "can see the dirt on them". Last week, Jake Gyllenhaal spoke of his bathing routine to Vanity Fair, saying: "More and more I find bathing to be less necessary.

"I do believe, because Elvis Costello is wonderful, that good manners and bad breath get you nowhere. So I do [brush my teeth].

"I do also think that there’s a whole world of not bathing that is also really helpful for skin maintenance, and we naturally clean ourselves."

The next Dwanye Johnson movie set to be released later this year is 'Red Notice' with Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot. The action/thriller will hit Netflix this November.
