We’ve been promised some good weather this spring/summer, and while we’re not really sure who made that crazy promise, it is worth at least preparing for the sunshine by bringing a small bit of colour to your outfits.

Hackett’s Spring/Summer collection combines the brighter shades that we want to see and wear in Spring with some classic and safe colours that make sure that you don’t have to go absolutely outlandish but can still make a statement with some key pieces.

We’ve picked out a few of our favourites below, including some looks from the catwalk, that highlight the variety and quality from the iconic brand.

Just because things are hotting up outside doesn’t mean that you should ditch layers altogether. A smart summer blazer is the perfect piece to pull an outfit together, and the honeycomb piquet blue jacket will go perfectly with light coloured chinos. Alternatively, the blue checked blazer is a bolder piece, and works best with other neutral shirts and trousers.

Floral is a pattern that is on trend this season, and it can be difficult to work it in if it's not something you're used to. These floral shorts are a good place to start, as they're not too over the top, and matched with a plain polo, they won't look too out of place.

Natural fibers are going to be the only ones you should wear to keep you cool, and you can expect quality from Hackett in that regard. Try the blue linen shirt with some navy shorts, or the stone chino shorts for an instant casual style. The silk mix jumper, pictured in green, is available in a range of colours, while the beige chucky shawl collar number is perfect for relaxing with a drink outside as the temperatures start to fall in the evening.

Accessories will be key to any look, and give you the chance to personalise and add flare to an outfit. Just because the weather is warmer doesn’t mean that you should discard the tie, and the navy and white stripe or the houndstooth numbers we have selected are neutral tones that still have a vibrant feel. The bow tie is also a great way to smarten up a look, and it can be matched with cardigans or jumpers for best results if you’re worried about looking too dressed up. Adding a pocket square with a pattern, like paisley, can liven up a blazer, and you should always be prepared for changeable weather with a lightweight mac and an umbrella. All the better if they’re a fun shade of blue that catches the eye and makes your ensemble stand out that bit more.

There are also some great travel bags included in some of the looks, and they will be perfect for getting away on a weekend while we have the weather. Travel in style, don’t you know.
