When you're a teenager, pretty much everything your parents do it mortifying.

So when your dad flashes his bum in one of the biggest films of the decade, you can imagine the effect it might have.

Domhnall Gleeson has discussed just that in a new interview with The Independent UK, recalling a particular scene in 'Braveheart' when his dad Brendan, who played the character of Hamish in the film, is amongst a group of Scottish soldiers who mock the English by turning and flashing both their private parts and their bums at them.

"I remember when they all raised their kilts and flashed their arses at the camera," Domhnall said. "It's so funny, the stuff that matters to you when you're young and in secondary school. I was so worried. I was like (makes a very serious face), 'Oh no. This is - no. Oh God.'"

It seems that the transgression was ultimately forgiven, though, as the father and son went on to work together multiple times, including on 'The Guard' and 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'.

Domhnall can currently be seen in new TV rom-com 'Alice & Jack', while Brendan's next role will be opposite the likes of Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix in 'Joker: Folie a Deux'.
