In case you missed it (or don't live in Dublin), last Wednesday 26th September, American food giant Krispy Kreme opened their first store in Blanchardstown, Dublin. The store operated 24hrs, meaning you could get one of their famous glazed doughnuts at 3am if you fancied it. However, this is now a thing of the past thanks to, yep you guessed it - people.
Since news broke about the store opening, the queue of people trying to get their greedy mitts on a doughnut has been insane, with reports of people waiting two hours - for a doughnut:

However, the worst scenes have been at night. A video surfaced online a couple of days ago of impatient people in their cars beeping their horns non-stop, and it's led to many complaints from Blanchardstown residents:

Following the backlash from residents, Krispy Kreme have now been forced to cancel their 24hr drive through, and the reaction online has been gold. Prepare yourself for the funniest tweets we've seen online about doughnut gate:
Krispy Kreme: hey ireland is it cool if we open a single store using the same business model we’ve had in the States for decades?

The Krispy Kreme drive-through drama in Blanchardstown makes me feel like I don’t understand Irish people.

I recall a dunkin donuts on Grafton St when I landed in Dublin first 20-odd years ago, but the only queues as I recall was the tumbleweed trying to get a good roll on. We were a nation of plain scone eaters then.

Does the world really need 24hr donuts?

Well done to the people beeping their horns, now look what you did! pic.twitter.com/H6pPiudIPL

If people weren’t impatient idiots and realised that in a few weeks the hype would die down and they’d be able to get their doughnuts with no issues there wouldn’t have been any problems

Bigger crowd at Krispy Kreme than there was at the Pope
