The BAFTA awards for games were held last night, and the big winner was Destiny, as it was named Best Game.

The game itself was one of stupefying ambition and scale, and perhaps deservedly scooped the award in a year that was packed with plenty of sequels and franchise installments, but there was stiff competition from the other nominees for the award, including Mario Kart 8, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and Alien: Isolation.

There were other winners on the night too, such as Ashley Johnson who won Best Performer for her turn as as Ellie in The Last of Us: Left Behind, while that same title also won for Best Story.  Far Cry 4 (one of our own favourite games of the year) scooped the award for Best Music and Alien: Isolation's creepy atmospheric vibe helped them to win Best Audio Achievement.
