A simple hike through Torrey Pines State Park, San Diego turned into something rather different recently when a troop of cub scouts ended up in the middle of a nudist beach by accident.

The original route was to bring them through the state park, but somewhere along the line the group of around six students and their parents managed to take a wrong turn and end up on Black's Beach, a favourite spot for those who like to sunbathe without getting any tan lines, if you catch our drift.

The children, who were all in the 4th grade, were apparently confused by what they saw, but Diane Lekven, one of the parents who was on the trip, said she felt "nauseated" by the whole experience.

Levken filed a complaint with the Boy Scouts, but they issued a statement to CBS News, saying that the troop "encountered some individuals who were inappropriately dressed", and that the troop leader (who will not be disciplined) followed proper protocol and re-routed the scouts as soon as they realised what went wrong.
