When you're leaving your home for a short holiday, there's the usual checklist of things to look out for.

Lock the windows, set the alarm, unplug everything, maybe tidy the place up, etc. The idea being that when you return home from said holiday, everything's pretty much as you left and right as rain.

However, Carole-Anne and Ron Morris, a newlywed couple who had just returned from their honeymoon found something in their home. The discovery was made in the early hours of the morning when Carole-Anne was using the loo. As she describes it, it had whiskers, looked slimy and lived in said loo. Gremlins, perhaps? We know they can't get into water and they're nocturnal.

"I mean, I stood there for a second and I was like, ‘I’m not seeing what I think I’m seeing.’ The whiskers, the ears, just right there,” Carole-Anne explained.

She quickly snapped a picture of said creature and posted it to Facebook because that's what people do nowadays. The image quickly went viral and not long after, a local news channel contacted her to investigate.

The image in question was shown to zoologists who couldn't determine what the creature was. It's understood the creature hasn't made another appearance since the first contact, however the couple said they'll be contacting pest control if it happens again.

Look, if Gremlins has thought us anything, the best way to deal with them is by putting them in a microwave. We all saw that documentary on them back in the day, so clearly it's the way to go.
