We're not ones for vigilante justice, but anyone who harms a dog deserves to have their faces caved in.

Or, failing that, receive the same treatment they've meted out on their faithful dog.

A woman in Strongsville, Ohio, was cited by police for leaving her dog alone in a car during a particularly warm day.

Usually, the offence carries some stiff penalties for animal cruelty, however police decided to go for something a little unique.

The woman was, according to eyewitnesses, ordered into her car and left to sit in the heat for an extended period of time.

The dog and the woman were both fine afterwards, and the police eventually let her off with a warning.

Leaving dogs in a hot car, even with windows down, just isn't on. This little video from a few years ago will show you just what we mean.
