This has to go down as another reason why Donald Trump creates the most ridiculous headlines.

Speaking to Variety, Christian Bale reminisces on a time when he met the US President when he was still just a regular TV Celebrity.

Back in 2011, while filming 'The Dark Knight Rises' Christian Bale had the opportunity to meet Donald Trump, as they were using Trump Tower as part of the set in the movie.

Recounting the story, Bale said "I met him, one time. We were filming on 'Batman' in Trump Tower and he said, "come on up to the office".

Bale continued, "I think he thought I was Bruce Wayne, because I was dressed as Bruce Wayne. So he talked to me like I was Bruce Wayne and I just went along with it, really. It was quite entertaining. I had no idea at the time that he would think about running for president."

Neither did any of us really, Christian.

Bale's new movie 'Vice' sees him play former Vice President Dick Cheney. Known for his dramatic weight gain and weight loss in the past for his roles, Bale decided to seek advice this time around to ensure he gained weight in a more healthy way.

Speaking on his preparation of the role, he said "This is the first time I actually did go to a nutritionist cause I’m starting to feel my mortality. I did decide, 'You know what, I might die, so maybe I should go to see someone who actually knows what they’re talking about instead of just winging it,’ which is what I’ve always done."

Here's the trailer for 'Vice' which opens in Irish cinemas on 25th January.
