We got a press release off MCD earlier this morning entitled "CHERYL ANNOUNCES ‘A MILLION LIGHTS’ ARENA TOUR FOR AUTUMN 2012." And I have to say, my first thought was "Cheryl who?" Seriously, no word of a lie.
Evidently Cheryl has rebranded herself in the singular, elevating herself to the ranks of GaGa, Rihanna, Beyonce, Madonna, Kylie, Prince, Adele...
One could argue that she had little option, what with Cole being affiliated with a tosspot and Tweedy just generally being a rubbish surname, but still, she's not talented enough to just be Cheryl.
If you'd care to see mime her way through a load of generic dance tracks while wearing dodgy lycra pants (if her performance on Graham Norton last Friday was anything to go by), she is kicking off her first solo tour with two her Irish dates in Belfast and Dublin. She'll close with a date in her native Newcastle.
