Charlie Sheen has filed for divorce from his wife, Brooke Mueller. The Two And A Half Men star is said to have filed papers at Los Angeles Superior Court requesting a dissolution of his marriage to his third wife, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split (so she didn't see the funny side of his apparent drunken escapade and argument with prostitute Capri Anderson in the New York hotel then). Sheen listed their date of separation as Christmas Day 2009, which was the same day that he allegedly assaulted Mueller during a festive break in Aspen, Colorado, which led to domestic violence charges being brought against him. Last week, Mueller confirmed for the first time that she and Sheen were separated. Court documents, signed by Sheen and his lawyer Mark Gross, reveal that the couple have a prenuptial agreement and Sheen is requesting joint legal and physical custody of his twin sons, Bob and Max, with Mueller. According to US reports, the couple, who wed in May 2008, signed a 'stipulated judgment' earlier this year, which laid out the division of their property. While Mueller gets their 2009 Mercedes S600, nursery furniture, guest-bedroom furniture and a lump sum of $757,689.70, Sheen reportedly gets to keep a 2009 Escalade Cadillac and their $6.4m home. Sheen has also agreed to pay Mueller $55,000 a month in child support.
Now, Brooke Mueller has hit back at Charlie by filing her own set of divorce papers. She has asked a judge to dissolve their marriage on the same day Sheen made his request. She too listed the date of their separation as Christmas Day 2009 but while her husband has requested joint custody of their sons, she is asking for sole physical custody with only visitation rights for Sheen.
