This New Year's Eve was a big one.

It marked not only a new year but also the beginning of another decade - the roaring '20s.

As you read this, you could very well still be feeling the aftermath of your own celebrations. Well celebrities across the globe will be feeling the fear just the same if these mad parties are anything to go by.

But the stars took to social media not only to show off their lavish parties ringing in the new year. They also took the time to reflect on the past year - and decade - noting what they've accomplished and expressing their hopes for the future.

No doubt, for many, 2020 is going to be a big one.

What a year! I’m so grateful to the community that has supported me this past decade. In 2000, I dreamed big and in 2019 I dared to dream even bigger. I launched @VictoriaBeckhamBeauty, with my co-founder and good friend @sarah.creal, as well as partnerships with @Reebok and @Sothebys. I’m so happy to be home again and showing on the #LFW schedule. And like the @spicegirls we went on tour! From Berlin to New York, Dubai to LA, Doha to San Francisco, I met some inspirational leaders like Sir #JonyIve and @SherylSandberg. And so many of you all high-kicked the #VBPose—even @theellenshow joined the gang (see more on #worldofVB!) 2019 will also be known as the #cooltobekind year and I continue my work as a @UNAidsglobal ambassador and led charity initiatives at #Pride and #IWD. There were also hours #InTheChair and singing @barbrastreisand 🎤 @davidbeckham and I have come a long way—we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary and every day my family makes me the proudest mum—I love u so much @brooklynbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven. Thank you all again and #TeamVB for continuing to support me on this journey. x I wish everyone a happy 2020! xx Kisses VB

2019 has been so amazing. I’ve had time to relax, see the family more than ever, go to festivals with friends and also make a record that I couldn’t be more proud of. I’ve had so much fun. The start of the year was hard as I was still in my ‘sad song’ writing state of mind and they are not easy songs to write. Post that I had a lot of fun making fun music and Looking back on the process i had a lot a fucking great time writing and recording this stuff and I think you’ll be able to hear that in the music (apart from the sad ones obviously). The last few months since releasing NTMY have been incredible. It’s been so fun to be back out there travelling the world, playing on different shows, radio stuff, photo shoots and all the stuff that comes with what we do. SNL obviously being a MAJOR highlight. I love this picture above as it kinda sums me up right now. I’m feeling confident, happy, cheeky (as per usual) and very excited about 2020. I’ll be releasing Singles, an album and of course the NTMY world tour is happening!!!!! Get your tickets and come watch me. I’ve wanted to put a show on like this for years and I promise you I’ll give 200% on stage every night and give you your value for money. ( I’ll be announcing more dates in the coming weeks) Thank you for everything this year and being so patient with me. Love you all so much for being right behind me all the time. 2020 let’s go. It’s nice to be nice Love, Nialler

2019... it’s the last day of a decade... wow... when I think back to 2010... and think of all the things that happened between now and then I smile softly and contently on the inside... because even though some of the tougher moments popped into my head first, I realize I survived them all and they led me into the best time of my life so far. I honestly wouldn’t change a thing...I feel stronger and more at peace with who I am now than I ever have... I hope that you all can look back in the same way and enjoy every moment of your journey. Savor it, enjoy it!!!! It’s the 20’s. Get ready to roar!!! And laugh and dance and live live live! ♥️♥️♥️ #limitless #happynewyear link in my bio for the full video!

☾ 2019, Im happily saying goodbye They tell you that you shouldn’t look back but I’m going to suggest that you do. Be brave, look back and reflect on your past year; Or the past decade! It’s OK to remind yourself of what you went through and what you overcame. We may not be able to control what happens to us but we can control how we react to it. We must remember that all things are powerless unless we give them power. So let that power be empathy, understanding, kindness, grace, love and respect. Remember that God has and always will have your back. Have faith that life will get better as long as we believe in ourselves. We must internally feel grateful for everything and strive to become better people daily. Remind yourself how incredible your life is. How you’re still standing, thriving, smiling. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that what we take with us, is so much greater than what we left behind. I am choosing to only take with me the happiest of times! As I made this video of the past year; I can’t help but smile! True you are my entire heart! My happy place! My Forever and always! I love you ♡ I pray you leave everything that does not serve you purpose, happiness, peace, love and health back in 2019. 2020 I welcome you with all of my heart!! ☾ 🎶 Des’ree- I’m kissing you

at the beginning of this decade I was 6 years old. going to school. making my class listen to me sing 24/7. probably not even thinking about where I'd be at the end of the decade. this video was taken in 2011 when I was 7 and utterly obsessed with @adele and still utterly obsessed. no change. this decade has been life changing, like seriously. I found my passion in 2013 when I knew I loved being on camera. in 2014 -2015 I was begging casting agents to believe in me. in late 2015 Carmen Cuba, the duffer bros, shawn levy, and dan cohen but most of all @netflix believed in me. From there I've been all over the world meeting all of you. Met the most genuine people. grown up and learned many things. I'm turning 16 soon and I can confidently say I'm living my dreams out. this is what I want for every young person right now. thank you to everyone for all of your support. love you forever ❤

This year has been complex and awesome and awesomely complex. It’s been the best professional year of my life - not because I’m on a million magazine covers or making gossip waves but because I’m quietly doing what I love with people I love who also love doing it. If I had to distill the year’s lesson: .. - Go slower than you think you should because it ultimately adds up to more .. - You don’t have to push you can just move ahead with passion .. - People will come and go and surprise you and often their rejection is God’s protection (it also sometimes has nothing to do with you) .. - Sometimes you heal slowly and then all at once .. - Spend Sunday night returning emails and Monday morning returning texts and you’ll feel very accomplished .. - Be mindful of “self-care” not turning into hiding out- there’s a difference .. - Say yes more than you want to but no whenever you need to .. - Surround yourself with people who inspire you and make you laugh and implicitly understand your issues and don’t keep a tally of your wrong doings .. - It’s okay to take a pause from work to focus on the personal and a pause from the personal to make your art .. - Be a bitch on a mission don’t make it a mission to be a bitch .. - Health is wealth but also disability and pain don’t have to mean the end of your dreams - just the beginning of a new dream .. - Think before you speak, tell the truth, say sorry when you have to and it’s okay to make a joke nobody gets .. - Animals are people too (this is me excusing having adopted four new pets in a year) .. - It’s okay to give up on jeans .. - I love you all

Thinking back over the past decade is a bit of a whirlwind. It’s not easy to take stock of all the ups and downs that go into a single week, let alone more than 500 of them. Ten years ago at this time, our girls were sixth and third graders. Our family hadn’t been in the White House for even a year yet, and Bo was still pretty much a puppy. And though I felt that our family had adjusted well into a wild new reality, I was still a little uncertain about what all the spotlights and pressure would do to us. So looking back, what I’m most filled with is gratitude. A decade like this one was never a part of my plan—not even close. But I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunities, the relationships, and the growth I’ve experienced over these years. I’ve been so lucky to meet so many of you, to hear your stories, and to work together with you on issues that are near and dear to all of our hearts. We’ve got a lot to be proud of. But as I often say, we should be careful not to focus only on our statistics—our biggest accomplishments and best moments—you know, the kinds of things most of us share on social media. Those are important, but we should also be sure to relish the fullness of our stories. That includes the tough moments we persevered through, the messiness that spurred us to make a swerve, and the memories that are still a little bit tender. Though they’re difficult, those moments can be some of the most beautiful parts of our lives. What we often see as a weakness or a failure is often a strength—or a turning point to something better. So today, I’m thankful for all of those moments over the past decade that helped me get to where I am. I’m thankful for the worries and the anxieties, the failures and false starts. And most of all, I’m thankful that after all of it, we came out whole. Now on the other side of this decade, Bo’s got a trusty sidekick named Sunny. We’ve settled into new routines after two terms in the White House. And although the girls are gone away at college now, we’re all back together for the holidays—right where we belong. #DecadeInReview
