A rather unique wedding announcement has ended up going viral, and the couple responsible for it have gotten some pretty good news as a result.

When they sent out their wedding announcement, Joel Burger and Ashley King decided to nip the obvious joke in the bud and posed next to a Burger King restaurant logo, poking fun at the fact that their invites would proudly proclaim the union of Burger and King.

All in the name of fun, but the story went viral after appearing in The State Journal Register and soon they were inundated with calls to appear on radio stations, talk to other papers, and of course have a few words with BuzzFeed and The Huffington Post.

All that attention meant that the company themselves got wind of the event, and as spokesperson Eric Hirschhorn puts it, "felt an overwhelming urge to celebrate their upcoming marriage". So, they decided to give the pair a call on Skype and let them know that Burger King would be footing the bill for their wedding, and getting them some gifts too, since "on so many levels it felt like fate; they found each other and their story found us".

The Burger-King ceremony will take place on July 17th of this year in Jacksonville, and is sure to probably garner a bit of attention between now and then.

Yes, we got through the whole article without making a single 'Whopper' pun. It's the small victories that keep you going.
