Oh what a world we live in, eh?
Dover teen Ella Birchenough dropped her iPhone down a sewage drain yesterday evening and in an attempt to rescue it with her feet got herself stuck. And while most would lend a helping hand, the residents of Dover decided that it would be much funnier to stop and laugh and take pictures of the whole thing.

'I was talking to somebody and I went to put my phone in my pocket and it fell down the drain.' Ella told KentOnline. 'I thought to myself, 'I'm not leaving this' and I jumped down to get it. I wasn't really even stuck, I just needed somebody to help lift me out but my mum got all panicky.'
Her mum however soon joined in the revelry, with one onlooker who stopped saying that 'she was laughing her head off'. A Mr. Roberts told Dover Express 'I was taking pictures, her mum was taking pictures, a couple of other neighbours on the street were taking pictures. This road isn’t that big but all of a sudden there was car after car. There were people just pulling up and getting out and having a laugh.'
Once firefighters arrived on the scene, Ella was quickly removed and was in fine form (apart from her feet, obviously, which she ran on home to wash). Her iPhone however is now literally in the shitter.
