Of her show, It's On With Alexa Chung, being axed last December, Miss Chung said to the Radio Times: "They don't have the tone that T4 has anywhere in American TV. If you're a girl and you're my age - you're on a shiny night-time show and you've got your boobs hoiked up and you're not really giving opinions. You're merely a conduit. Sometimes I'd be in the middle of interviewing - insert starlet's name here - and I'd aim to have a joke and be irreverent, and then it would transpire that they weren't getting it and I had to switch back and do a straight interview... Channel 4 was like being in sixth form and calling your teachers by their first names. You know, executives that you go bowling with. Whereas at MTV, people sit in their offices and don't come down..." To your level where you can make them feel stupendously inept with your pert T4 wit and razor sharp... knee caps.
In other news: Congratulations, Amanda Holden, you're going to go down a storm in America. For those of you yet to be informed, Amanda has been offered her own presenting slot while some other blonde, shiny boob hoiked conduit is on maternity leave: "It is a massive deal for her and she was absolutely thrilled. Her profile is on the rise Stateside (she might thank Susan Boyle for that) and viewers love her cut-glass accent and easy manner. She is a natural presenter and has taken to it like a duck to water. Executives at CBS are predicting big things for her. It is an exciting time."
Amanda will co-present The Early Show with someone called Dave Price and someone else called Harry Smith this summer.
