Last year's The Voice runner-up and Danny O'Donoghue's protege Bo Bruce has said that producers of the show got in the way of her and Danny's relationship, insisting it wasn't a stunt and that O' Donoghue ditched her after being warned that he couldn't be seen with her in public.

Bo and Danny always had a strange relationship on the show, as was epitomised by their very close duet on stage, and rumours were flying that they were an item on the side which Bruce thinks put the nail in the coffin of any chance of a proper romance.

Speaking to The Sun, Bo (real name Lady Catherine Anna Brudenell-Bruce don't you know) said 'We were incredibly close and he’s a hot guy. It was a mad time and meeting someone under those circumstances is difficult. I was very vulnerable and I regret a lot of things that happened. There was such an obsession with whether or not we were together and that put wild amounts of pressure on us.'

'In the end a decision was made for him to not be around me. The process of writing my album Before I Sleep began when I was supposed to go with Danny to a Coldplay concert. It was meant to be an end-of-The-Voice present — for him and me. But he was told he was not allowed to, because he couldn’t be seen with me in public.'

'So I ended up not going with him but someone took pity on me and invited me to Coldplay’s box, with Coldplay’s agent, who then wanted to sign me. So although I said I have regrets about what happened, it led to so many other things'. We'd say the fact he was taking you to a Coldplay gig may have been a warning sign Bo. And yet still, she won't confirm whether or not they were together together, because it 'doesn’t just affect me' but goes on to say 'I answer everything on my album', which is conveniently out next week. Such a coincidence isn't it.
