The former Gossip Girl star opted to let the world know by putting a picture on her website of her and the bump.
The news may come as a bit of a shock, as she's been keeping things very quiet indeed, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively announced that they're expecting a child through Lively's website Preserve. The site sells clothes, homewares and pretty much everything and anything, provided that it's a bit quirky and offbeat.

The star's brother Eric Lively was the one who took the photo for the site, and in it she is caressing a very visible bump, suggesting she's a few months along anyway. It looks as though the announcement was also timed with the launch of a new collection of kids clothing and maternity wear on her site too, which is just an example of good timing, we're sure.
Of course, this baby may well provide some competition for Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling's child as the most beautiful human being in the world, given that it's the offspring of Lively and Reynolds, who tied the knot back in 2011.
