In this age of algorithms, trending topics, the spread of misinformation, AI and all manner of technological prodding of the zeitgeist, you really have to wonder what catches on.

Think back over the weird flash-in-the-pan stuff from even a few years ago. The Harlem Shake, remember that? What even was that? Other things, like Jason Bateman being utterly non-plussed about winning an Emmy, makes sense.

Bill Hader dancing to random music? Yeah, that makes sense. After all, who doesn't love Bill Hader awkward-dancing to the likes of 'Come And Get Your Love' by Redbone, or 'Dreams' by Fleetwood Mac? Nobody, that's who.

Here's a few examples.

It's funny, of course, that the original footage was taken from a cut-for-time sketch on 'SNL' that wasn't actually that funny to begin with. Yet, sure enough, the internet was able to take the raw materials and craft it into something weird.

Never change, internet. Never change.

(No, actually, do change, you're destroying the very fabric of society.)
