Anyone else miss Britain's Got Talent on Saturday night? Me too. Apparently it featured Ryan O'Shaughnessy from Portmarnock (and Fair City) who sang a self-penned love ditty to a girl he brought to his debs (or 'Prom' as The Sun is calling it…) For those of you who care, her name's Katie Lucia Keegan and they became friends in school (Portmarnock Community College). Ronan's pretty much in love with her, while Katie's naturally "flattered by the attention" for the moment.

He told The Sun: "She's loving it and is flattered. But I don't think she realises I'm in love with her yet. She makes me nervous. I don't want to rush in. She's my mate, she's a nice girl and has a beautiful smile. If I win I'll spend my £500,000 on a holiday for just the two of us, and maybe a sparkly ring if she's lucky."

The chances of that happening, however, are slim at the minute as Ryan "can't legally appear on BGT. He signed a three-month deal with Universal when he auditioned for The Voice - and he didn't read the small print. Now, despite Universal having no plans to make him a star, he is bound to them, which seems unfair. He should get a chance to show his skills on a TV show that appreciates him."

And the PR opportunities his appearance has generated thus far.
