If Clooney had to choose between being invaded by a robber or a crazed fan, he'd probably go for the robber option. So, when you look at it that way, this potential burglary is probably just a walk in the park in comparison.

A 29-year-old Romanian man reportedly snuck onto Clooney's property in Lake Como and stolen a bottle of wine from an alcove in the garden... Maybe he was a crazed fan wanting to romance George after all... that or he just really fancied a drink/wanted to sell the bottle on eBay.

He was then spotted as he tried to force his way into the house by a member of staff who called the Carabinieri - that being the Italian national military police, who also deal with civil matters.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the man threatened the police with the bottle, but was overpowered and taken to a local station and charged with theft.

George, 52, was not at home at the time of the incident, so we can all rest easy.

The actor is currently planning a 'dream wedding' for his British lawyer fiancee Amal Alamuddin, which he is considering hosting either at the Lake Como property or Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.

Afterward, he is thought to be relocating to London so she can continue beavering away as a barrister at the Doughty Street Chambers.

Speaking of their marriage plans, a source said: "He'd marry her today if he could, but he wants to give her a dream wedding. It is her first, and he wants it to be his last!"

The brunette's conservative Lebanese parents are also eager for the couple to make their union legal. The insider said: "[They] are old-fashioned when it comes to these things. They expect a short engagement. George would do whatever makes her happy."
