To no-one's surprise, the Twitter beef all started when Morgan opened his big mouth. Morgan tweeted Little Mix, claiming they're copying country singers, the Dixie Chicks. He said, "Hey Little Mix - when are you going to admit you stole this idea from Dixie Chicks?"

He then fired shots at Little Mix's Jesy Nelson, who had previously called the presenter "a tw*t" on the BBC Radio One show with Nick Grimshaw. Morgan said, "Sultry? She looks ridiculous. Ask her to put some clothes on (if she has any...) & apologise for calling me a tw*t."

Enter Ariana's mother Joan Grande. She tweeted her support for Little Mix sharing their body confidence, and blasted Morgan... well, for being Morgan. She tweeted, "Honestly what is wrong with you @piersmorgan? Didn’t your mother ever teach you, if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it! You came for @TheEllenShow yesterday which was disgraceful, she is an angel. @LittleMix today, did you ever hear of paying homage? And..well never mind."

Joan was referring to Morgan laying into Ellen DeGeneres for the content on her talk show. DeGeneres made a supercut video celebrating International Men's Day, and included moments from Chris Hemsworth and Idris Elba appearing on her show. Morgan said she was "Drooling today over famous men's bodies [...] Yet I've been abused all day for complimenting Holly Willoughby on her legs [...] The hypocrisy of modern feminism laid bare."

He responded to Joan, saying "Hi Joan, my mother taught me to speak my mind & never be afraid to express honestly held opinion. Ellen's a hypocrite - and as for Little Mix, I'd just prefer they use their talent to sell records rather than their nudity. As your own daughter does...!"

Enter Ariana Grande. Ariana, who appeared on Ellen's show recently, said "Ellen is an incredible & kind human being.. I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because i choose to. women can be sexual AND talented. naked and dignified. it’s OUR choice. [Love Heart] & we will keep fighting til people understand. I say this w all due respect but thank u, next."

She also knocked it out of the park with her follow-up. Saying, "also @piersmorgan, I look forward to the day you realize there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do. I think that’ll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what’s left of it. [Love Heart]"

*Mike-drop*

Little Mix have kept quiet since rustling Morgan's feathers, but retweeted Ariana's support for them. The singer said to the girl band "keep fighting the fight divas @LittleMix [Love Heart] your sisters have your back."
