Ariana Grande has finally spoken about her fiancé Pete Davidson's joke regarding the Manchester Arena bombing, which took place on May 22nd of last year.

Davidson reportedly cracked a joke about the bombing at a benefit event for Puerto Rican victims of Hurricane Irma months before he was romantically involved with Grande. The comedian, whose father perished in 9/11 working as a firefighter, said that he didn't realise how famous Grande was as "Britney Spears didn't have a terrorist attack at her concert."

One of the mothers of the teenagers who died during the bombing called for Davidson to make a public apology for his joke, however Ariana Grande has since come to his defence on the issue. In a tweet, Grande explained that the situation had been "v tough & conflicting on my heart," and explained that Davidson uses comedy to help people feel better, and added that people deal with trauma "differently," and that she "of course didn't find (his joke) funny."

"(It) was months ago & his intention wasn’t/ is never malicious but it was unfortunate," the tweet continued. Naturally enough, Grande's fanbase haven't taken her apology all that well and instead believe that Davidson himself should come forward and speak for himself rather than have her do it for him.

Davidson has yet to make any comments on the matter so far.
