Take 'Bout Ye' for example. The full expression is 'What About Ye', or 'How About Ye', but they even shortern that to just 'Bout Ye'. It's this expression that Norn Iron's most famous occupant - outside of Liam Neeson and James Nesbitt - that seems to captivate him so in this piece for Vanity Fair.
To be fair, Norn Iron does so many expressions that are truly unique to them. Nobody down here uses 'wee', except to mean urine. Likewise, nobody here would even think to ask 'What About Ye' as it's pure Norn Iron. A Norn Ironism, if you will.
