In awful news this morning, Anastacia announced via her Facebook page that she's been diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time. Having successfully fought a battle against the disease in 2003 and adding huge amounts of support to cancer awareness charities since, it's a horrible blow for the singer who has now cancelled an upcoming European tour which was due to begin in London on April 6.
'Anastacia has sadly been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time after having successfully survived her 2003 battle with the disease. Consequently she has been forced to cancel all performances, tours and any travel from now until further notice.' a post on her Facebook page reads, adding her own statement, 'I feel so awful to be letting down all my amazing fans who were looking forward to 'It's A Man's World Tour'. It just breaks my heart to disappoint them.Now more than ever, she is determined to live by her motto 'Don't ever let cancer get the 'Best of You'. A born survivor, Anastacia has one goal and that is to make a full recovery with the support of her family, friends and everyone around her.'
It's a brave move coming out with the exact nature of the cancellation, and one that doesn't happen all too frequently in the entertainment industry, so you have to respect the strength of the iron-lunged lady going public with the news which if anything will increase awareness of the disease even more. We can only wish her a speedy treatment and recovery.
