The Winehouse is hardly the best advertisement for the trappings of showbiz, yet her goddaughter, Dionne, is hell bent on following in her meandering footsteps. She's not even a teenager, so her judgement is bound to be less than honed, but her parents have no excuse and need a swift kick in the hoop.

Amy reportedly "begged" organisers of The End Of Summer Ball, which took place last night, to let the youngster sing and they obliged. A source said: "She's really pushing Dionne to be a big star. Amy's manager Ray always supports the Berkeley Square charity bash so she asked organisers if Dionne could perform a couple of numbers. She has been encouraging her to sing and wants to give her a big break. Dionne was friends with Pete Doherty, too, but he had scared her off when she asked for advice. Amy has a soft spot for the girl and has gone out of her way to help. Dionne is really nervous, but Amy has been giving her a pep talk on how to get through the show."

Eh, other than innumerable bottles of whiskey and armloads of narcotics? Lord, someone please save this youngling. She's 12.
