Singer Amy Winehouse has died from a drugs overdose at the age of 27, her management has confirmed.

Winehouse was found dead in her home in North London according to reports from Sky News. She had a long history of substance abuse, and her official website earlier announced that she would be cancelling all scheduled appearances. Rumours then began to circulate on social networking site Twitter about her death until confirmation in late afternoon.  

The death is officially being treated by Metropolitan Police as “Unexplained.”
