Tis the season for Christmas pranks.

A news report that came in from WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia had the news anchors cracking up while trying to read the report.

The story is of a "good Samaritan" who was trying to save someone from the roof of a house - little did the man know that he had fallen victim to a very well done Christmas prank. The news reporters say the family want to find the man involved, to give him a gift for his trouble. The incident happened outside their home in Austin, Texas.

Have a look at the footage below, which alludes to the Christmas classic, 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation,' starring Chevy Chase.
