In a statement released to the Sunday Mirror, Al Porter has denied claims that he groped a patient of St. Patrick's Mental Health Services in 2015.
The claim, made by a male patient, has been investigated by the facility - however the patient has since asked for an outside investigator to be brought in. According to the Sunday Mirror's report, Porter met with management at the facility, where he denied that he acted inappropriately.
Porter's legal team stated that the embattled comedian "is cooperating and will continue to do so fully with any inquiry by St Patrick’s as he categorically denies the allegation of criminal wrongdoing."
As well as this, former 2FM broadcaster Colm Hayes has backed up Porter's story and said that he never witnessed "anything untoward" while the two hosted a radio show from the facility.
Porter resigned from Today FM in the wake of claims of sexual misconduct against him. At the time of the alleged incident, Porter was working for 2FM as a co-host on Hayes' show.
The state broadcaster has issued no statement on the investigation.
