Is there such a thing as a throat transplant? Adele needs one. But then she probably wouldn't sound the same... At least there's all those people who auditioned for X Factor who really sound like her.

She had a chest infection last month, which resulted in the cancellation of her UK tour dates. She managed to rescheduled those, which has left her knackered for her upcoming American tour - due to start in New Jersey on Friday. Making it the third time she's cancelled her American tour. America won't like that.

WENN reports: "Doctors told the Someone Like You star she needed more time to rest and recover after diagnosing her with a vocal cord haemorrhage and revealing she could wreck her voice permanently if she didn't take time to fully recuperate. In a lengthy post on her website on yesterday, Adele wrote, 'Guys, im (sic) heartbroken and worried to tell you that yet again im experiencing problems with my voice… Singing is literally my life, it's my hobby, my love, my freedom and now my job. I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or I risk damaging my voice forever. I have great confidence in believing you know how much this upsets me, how seriously I take it and how truly devastated and annoyed I am by this. Wanting to do something so bad and not being able to is the most frustrating thing as I'm sure you know! My voice is weak and I need to build it back up. I'm gonna be starting up vocal rehab as soon as (possible), and start building my overall stamina in my voice, body and mind. I will be back and I'm gonna smash the ball out the park once I'm touring again. I apologise from the bottom of my heart, sincerely I do'."

The last two times Adele cancelled stateside "she cited personal family problems for scrapping tour dates in 2008 and a nasty case of laryngitis shut down her North American tour earlier this year."

Hope you get well soon Adele. Here's two helpful nuggets - give up the fags and maybe consider a bout of hypnotherapy to get over the stage fright. If you don't address the issue, the subconscious manifests itself in physical dis-ease... hence the dodgy chest/throat and so on. And the smokes wouldn't help either. Just saying.
